Players Network Coming To Cable
Not sure how I feel about this, but apparently Comcast has struck a deal with the Players Network which will provide programming dedicated to the gaming lifestyle on your cable television. While part of me will be an avid watcher, I'm sure. The other part of me thinks how this may negatively impact Poker overall. In the end though, once I address my internal debate, I believe this will help the forward progression Poker has begun. More exposure, the more money at the tables. Yes, more bad beats...but if you learn to ride out the beats, the better off you'll be.

A good article outlining a team of people upholding the "voice of poker". They're fighting our good fight to put Poker in a better light. I would be very interested to learn more about this group.

Empire's left feeling flat in the online poker stakes
Empire Poker appears to be struggling. Not a huge surprise in my mind with the recent separation from Party Poker. However, a good read if you have a vested interest in the company.

Is poker good TV? You bet
Yesterday I posted an article taking the approach that Poker should not be viewed as a sport. To counter that, I offer this article written By Phil Kloer with Cox News Service out of Atlanta. A good point, counter point.

Tuesday's Poker Roundup

There's a reason this guy will never be more than a school newspaper columnist...sigh.
Apparently, this guy feels that poker is not a sport. While I would be more than willing to debate this with any one wanting to entertain such a conversation, this guy's point of view is just lacking. To use ones mind as opposed to sheer physical strength should not be looked down on. I would challenge anyone willing to oppose this school of thinking to put up the 10K in the main event and then compare notes afterwards.
Get poker off of my television

The Poker Channel Meets The Racing Post

This is interesting. This online poker room is trying like hell to associate their brand with an actual town. An interesting marketing strategy to say the least.

This is getting good. Online poker sites are now preventing competitors from playing at their site. Hmm. So what's next, they going to cross reference accounts and then ban you, the player next if you have another account elsewhere?

Sunday Update

Been a rough week on my bankroll. That's how it goes though. Took some money from PokerStars and made a deposit with Titan Poker. Overall, seems like a decent enough site. You can tell they want to succeed with the promotions they have running. Started out strong with the six handed sit n go promotion. As soon as I got some steam though, went down hill from there. The goal is to win six in a row, take home the jackpot. First few I was finishing 2nd and 3rd. Then had two poor showings after that. From there I hit two first places in a row and was pretty excited moving into my third. The rest is just typical oddity's one becomes familiar with when playing online. Anyhoo, I'll report back if anything interesting happens with Titan.

On to today's stories:
Hollywood's next Themla and Louise?
Hellmuth and Arod Hit The Town for Some Poker

Being the tech geek that I am, I find this interesting. I've been messing with PokerRoom.com's mobile version, but haven't really had much time to explore further. If your messing with this technology, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment.

Kayak Interactive and Verizon Join the Wireless Poker Battle

Yet another poker site to hit the market. This one caught my eye though. Win or loose a hand, and you can throw pies at eachother at the table. lol. While not entirely "good" for the poker community, I just think it's funny.

New Online Poker Site Offers Poker for the Whole Family

That's all for today. More as I come across it.

Today's Links

While not my favorite actress, she's certainly fun to watch. Although, she has really moved up several notches with her recent poker antics. Granted, not a big fan of the boyfriend, but oh well.
Jennifer Tilly Has Poker Fever

Holy Crap. Check out this promotion. Granted, I've been with PokerStars forever now and have no plans of leaving, but this promo at Titan Poker is pretty enticing. Win six short handed sit n go's in a row, and walk away with 100k. Place 2nd or 1st six in a row, and clear an addl 1k. Now, I'm not sure about you, but I pretty much exclusively play 6 handed sit n go's on PS. I WILL be checking this out!

After you read the story, click here to play.

Get caught snorting coke, become a poker site spokesperson. Sigh, makes perfect sense. Kinda sketchy on the details, but that's the gist.
Found this interesting...
Good tid bits on this years WSOP main event winner and his online play.
Online Only (2)

That's all for now. I'll be checking out Titan's site tonight if anyone's interested.

Some good finds today, Enjoy!

As a patron to the Jacksonville Poker Room at the track, found this article to be semi interesting. The one thing I take away from this article is the simple fact that given time, stakes will be increased allowing for a better poker game all around.
Poker changes have been boon to Florida dog tracks

Not a very interesting article, but I'm running low on poker links today, so... here goes:

Today's Picks

While not your typical poker related story, I found this interesting. Apparently advertisements were distributed in Ireland for a book and in that advert, the Last Supper painting depicts Jesus and his guests playing poker. Talk about pressure at the table.
